CROP ROTATIONS PRODUCTIVITY AND NUTRIENTS BALANCE IN CONDITIONS OF A LONG-TERM APPLICATION OF MINERAL FERTILIZERS IN STEPPE AREAS OF POVOLZHYE REGION

Abstract

The results of fertilization in a long-term stationary experiment are presented. The experiment is carried out on southern chernozems on the right bank of the Volga Riverin Saratov oblast. It is de-termined that agricultural crop yields and crop rotations productivity generally depend on weather conditions during growing season, type and dosage of applied fertilizers. The application of nitroge-nous fertilizers was more effective in the years of favorable humidity level. In dry years, phosphorus strengthened its effect. In conditions of dry steppe areas of Povolzhye region, on average during 42 years of observations, the applications of N31.2 P11.9 K7.6 per 1 ha of crop rotation area was the most effective. This dosage provided an annual average increase in productivity from 1 ha crop ro-tation area – 0.62 tons/ ha with the return on investment of 1 kg of fertilizers’ active ingredients – 12.2 kg of grain.The fertilizers increased nutrients removal from the soil. This process enhanced its effect in favorable conditions of growing season, when the level of humidity was sufficient. Recovery from nutrients removal considering the existing level of crops productivity is estimated as follows: 98-102% (Nitrogen), 92-100% (Phosphorus), 13-15% (Potassium).
